SPEAKERS BUREAU

The Speakers Bureau is a very important committee of Peace Action of Staten Island. It was envisaged as one of the main ways for us to accomplish our basic goals. The original goal of the Speaker Bureau was for PASI members to come together to educate themselves on the relevant issues, prepare presentations, and then take those presentations out to community groups on the Island.

This activity can be broken down into four distinct parts:

     1. Preparing ourselves as speakers.
     2. Contacting groups to arrange speaking engagements.
     3. Carrying off successfull speaking engagements.
     4. Evaluating the engagements for greater effectiveness in the future

In the past two years, the Speakers Bureau has changed focus from this original goal and instead taken on projects involving bringing outside speakers to various Staten Island venues, notably Wagner College.

The current chair of the Speakers Bureau is Ruth Benson.
